Hi George,

The subjective question, as always; with the long WB and low seat on mine the steering needs to be quick-feeling. More rake would increase lean-steer and might be OK too. I need to try more angle (it is adjustable). As is, the feel is very light, normally one-finger steering.

How would you design a Flevo with a vertical pivot and positive trail?
Put the pivot somewhere near your knees? ...
If you put the pivot near the rider's hips and the centre of the front
wheel 2" behind the pivot, you will have positive trail, but the rider
will be more or less directly above the front wheel.

That's probably what they did, there's a lot of wacky student bikes in his book.

Bill also makes an interesting point about front drive, rear steer bikes; all good track bikers can ride their bikes backwards, indefinitely. They did not have good luck with other geometries...

Cheers, Ray
