Hi Olaf,

It doesn't reduce the centering effect due to weight, which is independent of 
speed, rather the other forces change. The gyro effect stabilizes proportional 
to speed, as well as the tendency of the front wheel to turn in the direction 
of lean. The force about the pivot due to trail, + or -, increases with the 
square, so an upright bike is unstable at slow speed be cause of the 
de-centering effect of  positive trail and becomes stable at higher speed as 
the trail stability overcomes it. The python is the opposite. I've found a
