I have followed this thread with interest. I have had occasion to use this material and it worked for what I used it. I have replaced cracked lugs, welded low stress joints in trays and filled holes. I doubt it would have sufficient long term strength for use in a bike frame and I would hesitate to use it. The reason it works at lower temperature is that the alloying nature of the material causes the aluminium to dissolve (Not sure if thats the right word) at a lower temperature .
