For the survey I am especially interested in the weight and the long term durability of the various pivot types.
In the case with the above they come in many different sizes and shapes.
E.g. the cup and cone BBs are really bad. My wife?s P1 now has a pivot play of about 3 degrees. It is still rideable, but tends to wobble during fast downhills.
And one of these days ... GROINK, and it will be stuck.
On the other hand cartridge BBs seem to hold up very well. My P3 steering pivot has had its 18.000 km and still shows no play. And the BB was already old when I assembled it. And I really did not go easy with this bike ...
