Again, not much to see but it's been quiet here of late.

The first three are of me welding up the pivot head on the frame
(welcome to my cluttered shop). Now that I look at the pictures I
probably shouldn't weld so close to open paint cans, varsol, tapping oil
etc etc etc

This is the as welded pivot & rear frame (without rear fork). This will
later be flap-wheeled to clean up the welding seams. I plan to make a
jig to align the rear fork with the frame.

I had a hell of a time with the rear suspension pivot (where the brass
pin is). Not on the main tube but the smaller inner square tube that the
fork will attach to. I swear I was working with mild steel but I welded
in the cross tube for the pin (easy to machine before hand) and after
welding it became harder than kryptonite. With the cross tube being
extra long I went to cut each side on my bandsaw and faster than you can
say "what have I done" the bi-metal blade was ruined ($70ea!) Ok I'll
just sand it down. Then on final hole sizing I ruined two big drills
(15/32 & 31/64) I normally use before reaming 0.501". In both cases they
went red hot at the tip. After ruining the first one I even tried
annealing the cross tube with my torches, no difference. I made a second
rear frame member with a different source of steel for the pivot hole
and same thing. I finally got it by turning the drill real sloooooow at
25RPM and it still sounded like an un-sedated pig getting a colonoscopy.

You can see on the last two pictures I still have to drill the pivot
hole and round the front edges into a semi circle. Oh well That's how I
spent 1 hour of my weekend. And was it ever *hot* and *humid*!!!
