I have used brazing - at the bottom of this page you can see the enforcement plates I have used : http://www.scheel.net/old/HPV/Python/default.asp The bend under the seat gave in (cracked slowly) without side plates, the others are for peace of mind. Welding is quick and mostly ugly, brazing demands small tolerances in the joints, and the equipment is cheaper. I find brazing very satisfying (and when you mount the bottom bracket upside down, you can have another go without cutting - got the t-shirt :-)) Cheers, BrazeToe ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: nerdie <nerdie.spam@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, May 31, 2011 at 10:51 PM Subject: [python] Welding or brazing? To: http://www.scheel.net/old/HPV/Python/default.asp Hy Pythonauts, I looked in the mailinglist, but i cant seem to find a satisfying answer to this question: Welding or brazing when building a bike? What are the pro' s and con's? (strength, easyness, costs) Kind regards, Arjen ============================================================ This is the Python Mailinglist //www.freelists.org/list/python Listmaster: Jürgen Mages jmages@xxxxxx To unsubscribe send an empty mail to python-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field. ============================================================
