Another practical consideration is for riders with weaker knees. It
seems that optimal BB-seatHeight (15-20cm?) may cause encourage over
exertion. Higher BB seems to intense for python cruising style, so
it seems lower BB is the lazy way to go...
I second that, Vi: if high performance is not the goal a lower BB is ok.
There are even two more advantages for beginners: blood flow through
legs is better and the feet stay easier on the pedals if they are not
attached.
