Just checked mine. The fixed (right) BB cup is up. Both cups are made of
aluminium similar to this one:

Hello Paul,
I have very good experience with cartridge BBs as a pivot. My P3 has a
mileage of around 60.000 km (11 years) and it still steers with the
second BB. No play so far. Additionally both BBs were already used ones,
when I installed them.

My P1 had cup-and-cone BBs which seem to wear out quite fast, as I had
to re-adjust the play twice a year.
