[python] Re: Auto rising seat

Hi Vi, Hi Dirk, I can imagine there being a need for this basic principle, but in reverse. Riders with some back problems may need some help _getting down_ instead of getting up, which is the problem resolved by the system in the link. Since with the lowrider the weight has to be borne during the lifting/lowering (which is not the case with the linked system, the degree of complexity and the engineering for reliability issues are considerably higher. Cf., some of the variable height solutions // to the development of the Air-Bike. Wondering what Jürgen thinks about this.

regards,
Ron

  Hi Vi,

why would you need this on a lowracer? the design introduces 4 joints/axes

that are prone to play. I reckon, that the seat will give you a wobbly
feeling one day...

interchangeable seat mountings are a good thing on recumbents, in case of
different sized riders

not sure how this can be adapted to python without change seat angle...

What I have thought of so far is an interchangeable seat mounting system
made out of recycled seat posts, see attached.

Hey Vi,
as you're asking this, I'm sure you already had constructions in your
mind and began to build a test version with variable seat high ;-)

I can confirm the ease of higher seat. It seems that we should
recommend beginners to start out with high seat, and then lower as they
progress or want more challenge. How about an adjustable seat height
design, anyone?

Cheers,

Vi
