Hi Rob,

My conduit tube frame & coroplast seats have been ~35deg for lower back and
~25deg for upper back, so ~30deg average in the middle bend, which is not as
easy to measure as the flat sections. I use an inclinometer like this
one
http://www.wizardsatellite.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=33_69_86&products_id=115

However, on python I notice that my upper back tend to lean forward a little,
so
I started using 35deg for the upper back as well. Higher angle ~45deg, I start
to slip forward out of the seat. Maybe when I gain more experience, I can lay
back a little more, and use the headrest also.

Good seat contour / contact is more important on python as the back is used to
control the bike. I have good experience with artificial grass pads, good for
ventilation also http://en.openbike.org/wiki/File:GuineaPigSeatPad.png. I plan
to check out foam liner next like
Malric's

Hammock seat design that Jürgen used is something worth studying, as it may
have
the best contour / contact, and angle (adjustable?).

Vi

Hi Rob
It seems to me that all you need is a protractor and lots of pictures of
pythons. Then measure the angle of the mid part of the seat from the
horizontal. This method gives the same results as a number of manufactures
specs.
Good luck

  Hello,

i'm gathering specifications of the diffirent parts to build a python bike. I
got all the sizes/angles/measurements but I can not find how to
calculate/measure the angle of a seat. Searches on the internet only give me a
range between 19-30 degrees, but not how to measure the angle. Can anyone
explain it to me so i can finish my 3d model.

Rob
