No doesn't work in danmark. The number is connected to a particular bike. I talked to a pensionist that work exactly with the registration of bikes, he told me I had the right to get a number for the bike too.

Hi Dirk,
I am happy to hear that the Pythoon is back!

As for the registration number, could you not reuse the registration number of a donor bike - One that is already registert for you?get a numb
In Germany the registration number is often engraved in the BB, the use off a donor BB would also result in reuse off the registration number if it can still be read.

In Danmark, bikes get a registration number ingraved on its frame. When a bike is found, the police can look the bike up in a database. But homebuilders like me have to overcome a lot of obstacles to obtain a number (e.g. documentation of ownership, hahaha!), so effectively homebuilt bikes have no number.

A GPS tracker would be worth a consideration, especially now I finally understood that the pythoon is to important for me to lose. Do you know of an affordable/usable GPS tracker?  I found this: http://www.harald-nyborg.dk/merinfo.asp?varenr=1301&n=10 (about 100€)

Since the Pythoon is even more famous now, it may not need a lock anymore.
