sorry, I think I have to correct myself. Obviously, its rather the rear part 
off the  disk that is beeing pressed together by the weight off the rider.

Hi,
first off all, I too, like the flat construction off the pivot. This will allow 
for a even lower seat position.
If I am not much misstaken, only the frontend off the disks will be pressed 
together due to the load on the pivot.
One or two coaster blocks - I hope the term is right - on or in stead off one 
off the disks might even improve the pivot.

Hi,

i suspect a lot of friction/wear, especially on the outer end of the discs,
since they travel a lot when turning. However, this might turn out as a wanted
damping effect, potentially reducing psi...

I think, there are bearings available, that have a similar diameter to these
discs, but aren't prone to friction.
