So, it seems I merged this pull request to upgrade to 0.9.70, but what
"0.9.70" actually means is that the pull request was for LMDB master, which
is hugely diverged from the release branch. The reason I haven't made
requisite setup.py changes to cope with the new build dependency is because
the release branch lacks that dependency.
The only reason I noticed it was due to manually cutting you testing .eggs
back in February. As it stands, the source tarball I uploaded to PyPI is
pretty much junk, and the changes you are looking for aren't yet in any
release of LMDB.
Going to roll back the PR that caused this mess (admittedly I was asleep at
the wheel when I accepted it ;() and cut a new release shortly.
Was there any problem with the binaries I sent you from before? We could
potentially investigate a longer term solution involving a separate build
of py-lmdb that does indeed target master (and thus contains the sparse
file changes you are interested in).
