In a huge country like ours, you can pick and choose whatever piece of the pie
you like/dislike, to prove that America is good or that America sucks! I think
the guy who wrote this story sounds like a Googly eyed, romantic teenager!
Maybe Ian (he has an opposite perspective), can straighten him out about the
good and the bad of America, I can't, I am biased, I like what the Founders of
this country tried to create, but I am leery of what it has become and is
becoming!
But, no matter where you live, Life is what you make of it, and people get the
Government and Country they deserve.
As far as immigrants, it's not a question of "adopting" it's a matter of
ADAPTING... if you are not willing to change the "old ways" that made your
country of origin miserable, and are not willing to live in harmony with the
laws and customs of the host country that is taking you in, you are a parasite,
a pathogen or a cancer! The guy who wrote this banal article, gives himself
out by saying that he has a "Love/Hate" attitude towards this country... you
can only say that because you don't feel one with this country; imagine you
saying that about your own body or a mother about her newborn baby?
A true lover of wisdom has hands too busy to hold on to anything! He learns by
doing and every pebble in the path becomes her teacher! Oink
