I think the thought/message may spontaneously present itself as you spend and hour spotting prints from 'that neg'. It certainly crossed my mind about 30 times while spotting a set of 4 8x10's from a client w/big black spots on the negs. Even at a buck a minute for the retouching, a scanning/retouching/printing workflow would have been more pleasurable. ________________________________ From: Laurence Cuffe <cuffe@xxxxxxx> To: pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Sat, February 20, 2010 5:43:27 PM Subject: [pure-silver] Re: quitter :) Very sad news.I enjoyed his book post exposure, and wonder how his meticulousness translates into the digital domain. Having said that, there obsessive wrong headed-ness about blue focus location and other issues therein which is clearly symptomatic of the tragic disease from which both himself and Mr Rabiner suffer, creeping digitization. I wonder is it advisable to quarantine his text now that he's gone over to the dark side, in case there is some subliminal message in it which could still take me? All the best Larry Cuffe p.s. I'm still looking for the Zone system menu on my D40, any help would be appreciated.
