They are 1.4V each and wired in series which gives a total of 5.6V. The way I read the power requirements for this camera, it takes two RM640 or the modern equivalent A640PX which gives a total of 3.0V. The original system was made to run off of 2.7V. I got the 675 trick from a post on another group linked through Google but I didn't give it enough thought. I will buy some of these dimensionally correct alkaline batteries from photobattery.com and see if I have fried the circuits. Hopefully not.
