I've used TMY in D-76 1:1 for years. Its close to being an optimum developer although Xtol is probably a bit better. My understanding is that the D-76 was the developer used when T-Max was being researched. It works well with both TMX and TMY although there are better choices for P-3200. For extra fine grain try T-Max 100 in either Microdol-X or Perceptol full strength. The grain rivals Technical Pan at about five times the speed and no problems with controlling contrast.A lot of suggestions for TMY.Well I wasn't considering anything besides HP5+ or Tri-X because I thought either would work well in my D76. I was trying to go from the developer to the film. My reasoning to stick with D76 is because it's good stuff at a great price, easy to get, and keeps a long time. Is TMax going to work well in D76? Or am I going to lose the advantage of the special emulsion, and it'll just look like Tri-X?Elias
