Ship backorders within a week of credit card charge? I thought it was 30 days- one week could be a bit short for backordered merchandise to come in and turn around. But in any event, the companies I deal with have always notified of a backorder situation and the expected date for fulfillment. And they usually don't charge the card until shipping.
There are two suppliers of frames, albums, packaging, etc that I would like to recommend: Albums Inc in Chicago (and other places), and Dick Blick somewhere in the midwest USA. Albums Inc is primarily a wholesaler to studios, and sells in quantities. Their product lines that I have used are good, customer service is good, and backorders are rare. (Backordered products sometimes come from one of their other locations at no additional shipping cost.) Dick Blick is an art supply / craft supply store. They are bricks&mortar and online. Prices are definately retail, selection is good. I have no connection with either company other than as a customer.

It is illegal to charge credit cards and then not ship the product within a week. That never happens with us with any archival mat board or boxes. It does happen when we had our new paper made, and will again when we do the next run, but that is with the full understanding of the photographer.What Light Impressions does is illegal. That should have their credit card acceptance ability stopped.Someone wrote that Light Impressions said their Mat Board was made in Mexico. I would not trust it for a second.Michael A.
