DEAR ERIC,
Is toning not a possibility? As you have read it increases
permanence as well as providing quite a range of warm colors.
                CHEERS!

Subject: [pure-silver] Increasing Warmth In Ansco 115, Dassonville D-3 , et
al

Since the demise of Forte papers, I have been working
with Oriental Warmtone and find with Ansco 115, the
warmest developer I know of, that it isn't as warm as
I'd like compared to Forte.

Now Forte was a slow and low contrast paper requiring
long exposures and high contrast filters in the 3-3.5
range and sometimes even 4, all of which Oriental is
not. But the warmth of Oriental is something I'd like
to increase if possible via development.

My first batch was developed in 115 diluted 1:4 so
today I will be trying 1:5 as that is a known method
of increasing warmth with this developer.

Would there be any warmth benefit in adding anything
to the 115 formula or increasing the amounts of any of
the components?

Of course this all may be throttled by the limitations
of the paper, but I figured I'd ask and see what folks
here feel about this.

Eric
