the old pure-silver archive files are in a format which is very easily convertable to a Eudora mailbox format. open Eudora and create a new folder. e.g. "ps archives" 1. download an archive file and save it into the folder which eudora created abobe. Give it the extension .mbx and use a sensible naming convention so that you have a file named something 200409.mbx which would be for sept 2004's archive. do not try to open this in eudora before doing the following. 2. open 200409.mbx in Word as a "Text" file. 3. press ctrl+home to place the cursor at the top of the file. 4. press enter to insert a blank line at the top of the file. 5. open the replace tool. make global change exactly as follows: replace: ^pFrom owner-pure-silver@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx with: ^pFrom ???@??? use replace all 6. save file as 200409.mbx 7. open eudora and your archive file will appear in the "ps archives" folder as 200409 8. if you're smart you will record the above edits as a word macro and save the macro to your normal.dot template so you will only have to open further archive files and run macro to do the edits. I have only tested this on PC and haven't a clue if works on Macs. The benefits are that you get all the eudora functionality of searches etc etc etc. eudora is free. good luck rob champagne p.s. I am not subscribed to the old pure-silver list so someone may want to paste this message to that list to inform them since they do not appear to have a clue how to get the archive in a useable format. ============================================================================================================= To unsubscribe from this list, go to www.freelists.org and logon to your account (the same e-mail address and password you set-up when you subscribed,) and unsubscribe from there.
