I got this email today from Fotofest in Houston. I am posting it because it may be of interest to people. The links didn't copy exactly right, but maybe they will work anyway. If not, you can go to the Foto Fest website and find out about this.
Also, I just wanted to ask people if anybody has done this in the past, and if you thought it was worth the quite hefty fee.

The Meeting Place, FotoFest's International portfolio review program for photographers, continues to be one of the largest programs of its kind in the world. It is one of the Biennial's most important and popular programs. The twelve-day Meeting Place presents an unparalleled opportunity for photographic artists to have their work seen by some of the most important people in photography and photo-related art in the world.
FotoFest brings photography professionals - museum curators, gallery owners, festival directors, representatives of photo agencies, collectors, magazine editors and publishers -- from around the world to meet individually with photographers and review their work. Photographers may register for four-day or six-day sessions to have face-to-face reviews with experts who can assist with exhibitions and publications and provide guidance for future career development. Photographers are guaranteed a minimum of four formal appointments per day in addition to informal networking .
Registration Fees 4-day registration - $765
6-day registration - $950
FotoFest will begin accepting registrations immediately. Registration forms must be faxed or mailed. No phone, e-mail, or walk-in registrations are accepted. FotoFest will begin processing Meeting Place registrations on July 9, 2007
On July 9, 2007, if as usual, FotoFest has received more Meeting Place registrations than there are spaces available, we conduct a lottery for all Meeting Place applicants.
Meeting Place registrations received after July 9, 2007 are placed on the waiting list in the order they arrive in the FotoFest office.
