Choice 1 is to standardize on filter sizes by using step up rings. This means you will be purchasing the largest sized filter. If you have very WA lenses, you need to consider the thickness of the filter so that you do not vignette, especially with movements. Choice 2 is to use gel filters and hold them up to the front of the lens. Use the Calumet Gel cardboard filter holders ( look like oversized 35mm slide mounts) to hold the filters. Cheaper. You have a choice of 3 or 4 inch. Pick the 4 inch size. Kodak sold off the gel filter line to Tiffen. I have used the plastic resin Sinar filters with my Hasselblad lenses. They work as well. However, for my filters, I was only able to obtain 3 inch sizes. I use 4 inch gel filters. Other choices abound, but my #2 solution is light, renerwable, and it works. You sometimes need to have 3 hands, but it is workable. There will be some that say... but you have dust on gels in the light path and therefore you are degrading your lens quality.... True, but the solution is less costly then glass filters ( cleanable), and weigh next to nothing, and the amount of degradation is miniscule. It is a choice... My input about the elastic band... forget it. There is enough going on when taking a LF picture, and looking to see if the rubber band fell off the lens and is now hanging in front of the lens.....
