We are very happy to have your stall at SFD. No one is going to object for
hosting a stall for a GNU/Linux distro and a open hardware stack. Since you
mentioned about volunteering for a "talk", I am not sure how you assumed
the setup for this celebration would happen, so I will try to give you a
picture of our past proceedings.
Usually we would kick-off the event at 10am, therefore we arrive an hour
earlier at the venue which is a School. 3 to 4 class rooms would be
allocated for us and so we rearrange the benches and setup stalls in the
given rooms and outside the rooms with writing and sitting benches.
At 10 to 10.30am we would have a general assembly where all of us gather
together for a formal kick off briefing and reiterating the need for
software freedom and the objective of the movement. Once that is done, we
all get back to our stalls and wait for visitors (students and general
public) to come and visit each stall and when they do we explain them what
this stall about. Afternoon we break for lunch (which will be arranged for
everyone who is part of this SFD organizing) at the same place and then we
get back to our stalls.
Usually afternoon will see very less visitors because of the hot
temperature. Around 4pm we can expect a little spike in the number of
visitors and we will end the celebration around 5pm with an closing session
(with everyone sharing their experience, suggestions and things to improve,
I hope this would give you a picture of how it usually happens here. I am
bit confused when you mentioned it as a "Talk" because we will not have a
closed auditorium like setup where the stage is the center of attraction.
But definitely everyone are free to speak up, give a talk during the
I'm not getting very far on the matrix channel so trying again over here.
How do we get in the list, the process is pretty unclear atm?
