ok, but what do you do when it shuts off? and you need to turn it back on?
how long or how many times  would a person have to do this?

Did you leave it playing to discharge it?  Only today my shaver ran out of
power, but leave it for 30 secs and it will restore itself a little.  All
rechargables seem to do this, giving a little more power after a rest.
