Steve,

I'm taking a bit of a leap in the dark on this one as it is ages since I
last messed around with this and things may well have changed (or I might
just be wrong!!), but I think the answers to your questions are:

1. I think you can remove the information from the SD card after you
have loaded the settings.

2. If you go somewhere else and want to link into their wireless
network, you will need to get the relevant information for connecting to
their network - this is normally printed on a label on the wireless
router/cable modem. If you go to the System Settings menu and then to the
Network Settings menu and then select the Wireless Network Settings option,
you can then choose "Available wireless networks". This should then display
a list of all the currently available wireless networks. With the
information from your friend, you should be able to configure the various
bits of information such as the type of encryption, the pass key etc. Using
this method, the wireless network SSID should already be displayed.

I'm not sure about the issue of a tutorial for all of this stuff - have you
tried the Plextalk website?

Cheers,

Jamie

Subject: ptp1 network settings question

Hi, this is Steve.
I went from a PTR1 to a PTP1, and have noticed all the different folder
structures, including the network folder.
I loaded my private network settings from the SD card. At that point, is it
necessary to keep that information on the card.
Also, if I am visiting someone and set up the settings so that I could
listen with the pocket, could I just use the saved settings from the SD
card, or would I need to load these settings.
I am kind of confused, when or when not to load settings, and if any
settings or overwritten.
After writing all of this, I have more questions, but is there a tutorial
dealing with all options dealing with network settings and the like?
Thank you very much.
