Dear Penny,
I think I didn't quite state it correctly: What
it says at the start of finalizing is that I
have two options after finalization. One is
"disk recordable, and the other is disk
closed". I chose the disk closed option, and
wonder if I should have picked the other option.

I never have heard of this question: disk closed.
When one finalizes, the program itself lets
you know when the disk is truly finished with finalizing.
It sometims (but very rarely) happens that you
get a bad disk; and you might even get a couple bad ones in a row.
but normally that doesn't happen.
Sure hope you get some good info on this, as some
of the rest of us are learning from your experiences.
