MessageDear Frank, Thanks loads. I am going to get a 512 card, and think that should give me plenty of time. I ordered it from e-cost, and will try to get the Kingston adaptor you mentioned from there also. Many thank yous! IRTI will select and sell the proper adapter and the memory together. I do not think you will pay any more than at radio shack. If you want to save a significant amount you can purchase on the web but then you really need to know what you are doing. I started out with a 1 gb flash and could record for 90 hours continuously. If I was will ing to sacrifice sound quality at 16 I could have recorded for 180 hours continuously. If you purchase a 2 Gb flash just double these numbers. Keep in mind that if you limit the size of the resulting file to around 650 mb you will be able to back it up on to a 20 cent Cr. If you create a file any larger you will have to either back it up on to a laptop hard drive for archiving or just have to eventually delete it. I think that 650 mb should translate to about 50 hours at 32 or 100 hours at 16 but I have not done the math. I would like to be able to record with as much time as possible, and am told I should purchase a compact flash card. I am very much a novice, and readily admit that I don't know the first thing about what I'm buying. I am wondering if I should get a 1 gig, 2 gig or what, and will the ptr1 support either just fine? Someone had said something or other about maybe having to buy an adapter. I don't know what they ment, or why I would need to, or even if I would need to. Radio shack tells me they sell compact flash cards, and I'm hoping I can get it there. I would very, very much appreciate your help and guidance. Bill Benson billben@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
