Yes, I have tried changing the volume on the hi-fi. No, it doesn't happen
with my PTR1 and the internal and external microphones also work perfectly
with the PTR1.

I'm recording my own voice with the internal and external microphones and
using my hi-fi to record through the line-in. Neither the external
microphone nor line-in devices are phantom powered. Is it possible that I
have a faulty machine?

Thank you for suggesting using auto gain control, however, I tried that too
with similar results, if not, even worse.

ok, you are using manual mode then? if so try going into menu recording auto
gain control and turnning that on and let us know what happens with the
recordings then.

Subject: Recording Volume and Power Off

Hello PT Pocket Users!

I have recently purchased a PT Pocket (I still own a PTR1) and I'm very
impressed with it, however I am experiencing strange happenings with the
recording volume and Power Off.

The recording volume is at its best when I use the "line-in mode". When I
play a recording back after using the line-in, the playback volume is OK
when I set it to maximum (25) but I do have to whack the recording volume up
to the maximum level (20) to achieve this.

The worse results are with recordings using the internal microphone and an
external microphone. Even when I set the recording volume up to the maximum
volume (20), the playback volume is really very low even when I set it to
the maximum volume of 25.

Anyone have any ideas of what maybe going on?

Also, sometimes, while I'm in the middle of using the machine, it switches
itself off after about twenty minutes even though the sleep timer is off.

Thanks in advance.
