Hi John,
As far as I am aware, you do not need to use the transfer software but some
people find it easier to manage their books/files if they do use it.
Personally I always just copy and paste my files and books using Windows
Explorer.

Question, if someone wouldn't mind. Do I need the Plextalk software to
transfer books to my PTP1? I ask because I'm also having problems
transferring books. The first one goes fine, the second doesn't show
up. I don't recall having this problem before either. John
