Hi Peter,

Thanks for this. I've now managed to get most of the numbered BBC stations.
I say most because I've not yet got BBC 5 Live but I'm working on it!! I
also wanted to get Classic FM and Radio Scotland.

It would be really good if we could persuade Plextor to create an FTP
location where we could upload and download playlists that we know work -
what do others think?

Anyway, if anyone wants me to mail them the playlists for BBC 1, 2, 3, 4, 6
or 7, just give me a shout.

Jamie

Hi Jamie, and All,

If it's a Windows Media link, which the BBC stations are, then you
can't make a playlist file, because M3U and PLS playlist files must
point to MP3 files.

So, when you see a Windows Media Player link, you need to right-click
it, and save the actual ASX file.

If you have the URL, then one way to get the ASX file, which works
under Windows XP, is to set your folder options so that Windows asks
whether you want to download or open the file. Then, when you go to
that URL with Internet Explorer, you can save the ASX file, and then
copy it to the Plex Web Radio folder either with the Transfer
software or Win Explorer.

I don't know how to do this in Windows 7, short of actually changing
the ASX association to stop Media Player opening, so if anybody does
know, or has a more elegant way to get the ASX files, then please let us
know.

I'm also looking at how to get stations across from a mobile phone,
because there are good searches there.

I do agree that this could be more intuitive (smile), but it's worth
the trouble because the Pocket makes such a nice Internet Radio.

And yes, I am so happy about the time-jump features. One other thing
I like is the dedicated folder for audio books, which means that when
playing music you don't get unwanted non-music recordings.

The only feature I can think of now for the wish list is to read MP3 tags.

Best,

Peter
