Ray, As you are on the PTR1 list, is it fair to assume that you own a PTR1 or PTR2? If so, I would suggest that, a combination of the hardware recorder with the Plextalk Recording Software (PRS) software which comes with it, would be very adequate for audio only recordings. In either case, it is worth getting a decent microphone and pre-amp to ensure a reasonable recording level. If you want to do more clever things with the audio like inserting sound effects etc, it is possible to do the recording in a programme such as Sound Forge or Adobe Audition/Cool Edit and then import the audio into the PRS software to add in the DAISY structure as a second process. Hope this helps, Jamie -----Original Message----- From: ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Ray's Home Sent: 24 July 2006 14:16 To: ptr1-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: DAISY book production software and tools Thanks for getting back Jamie. It's spoken material produced in its final edited form I'm most interestedin producing, something like talking books, but probably with a bit more navigability.
