David, the program only compiles the pskmailrc.pl file when you run it the first time.It will remain intact even when you install a new version of the program! You can edit it with 'gedit ~/.pskmail/pskmailrc.pl' (mind the .dot agn...)After editing the pskmailrc.pl file you must restart the program (ctrl-C, pskmail_server).The config file is read only at restart of the program. The frequencies file is read automatically every hour, so you can change thescanning table without restarting the server... hope this helps, Rein PA0R-----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: "DAVID GRAY" <kf4wbs@xxxxxxxxxxx> Gesendet: 02.03.09 14:05:51 An: <pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Betreff: [pskmail] Re: pskmail serverI have that problem fixed. I reinstalled the operating system and used the correct coordinates. The problem I see is that when you install the programit compiles the .pl file That means to me if I update the .pl file I must reinstall the program ?I didn't put in the frequencies in the scan list yet so I am thinking I willneed to reinstall again to get everything running If you know a shortcut let me knowAlso as far as ssid goes I didn't use one but when I checked findu.com itappears I have an ssid of -16I must have found the correct file because the coordinates are correct nowDavid KK4WBS -------------------------------------------------- From: "Rein Couperus" <rein@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, March 02, 2009 6:09 AM To: <pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [pskmail] Re: pskmail server > David, > > can you send me a copy of your pskmailrc.pl? > There is probably a simple explanation... > > All config data are read from pskmailrc.pl at startup.> As APRS is quite picky about the format it is checked before sending > it. > You can add an SSID to the callsign, which must be in APRS format, > so -0> to -15 > The running version of psmail.rc is in the .pskmail (mind the dot!) > directory. > That is the version you want to edit. > > 73, > > Rein Pa0R > >> -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- >> Von: "DAVID GRAY" <kf4wbs> >> Gesendet: 01.03.09 19:10:36 >> An: <rein@xxxxxxxxxxxx> >> Betreff: pskmail server > > SIR >> >> I HAVE THE SERVER INSTALLED >> >> HOWEVER THE GRID COORDINATES ALWAYS PUT IN THE THE EASTERN HEMISPHERE >> I HAVE PUT XXXXX.XXW FOR MY GRID BUT THE TERMINAL PRINTS >> THERE MAYBE A FORMAT ERROR AND CONNECTS TO THE APRS SERVER AND >> REPORTS MY POSITION THE GRID NUMBERS ARE CORRECT BUT IT COMES OUT >> EAST E INSTEAD OF W >> ALSO IT ADDS AN L TO MY CALLSIGN I HAVE CHECKED THE APRS FINDU BUT >> CANT FIND ME ......
