That really is my recipe for success, using the correct QRG and filter as much as possible. Using it with a wide open (3 kHz) receiver is an almost pointless and frustrating experience. </quote> I suspect that I may be suffering like this with my wide open FT-817ND. To improve matters I have ordered a 500Hz Collins Mechanical Filter off ebay. Somebody has a batch of them and is selling them for a very reasonable price, even when international shipping is added to the price. It is not packaged on a little Yaesu PCB, just the bare bones filter, but the process of installing it involves two load capacitors and 3 wires. It is documented on the blog of IK1ZYW. Here is a link to the ebay filters in case anyone wants it. In that case, the transmitter continues to transmit regardless of what I do in pskmail: quit, disconnect, ... Even quiting pskmail completely doesn't stop the transmit. I have to switch off the tranceiver. On the other hand, my transmitter does not transmit anything when pressing the tune button, sending a ping or a beacon or trying to connect. Using the (working) 1.5.29 config doesn't change a thing. > > fldigi / pskmail 1.5.29 does work. But I hardly hear anything. It seems to me that my signal gets thru to the world, but can somebody confirm this ? But I do not really know, it's so slow that I do not really know what is happening. Even when reconnecting, the system tries to catch up for hours without any result. > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.22 (MingW32) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://www.enigmail.net/ iQEcBAEBAgAGBQJTazcbAAoJENJa8unLWIP2basH/A1wiCpUO8YX4B04p0Smrf5h fkVftmQX9WKhNLfnjkASYGkiOMD4AtMp2AZ/NXVTM+RKOklYV6SYopYBcJd++s+X z5wgRa1F5AHWfA0ggBmOXg6elHLT5TWgN7js4N+0cRocaWVG6w7k8/ozlT2KS/ms uDRWjvl7uLg+0U1A5K5hsYBAZPNoWAftUjn+CwThGGcbBbhQ2UCGynolh1nuZIYk IEy04cYmw2d2HCP8qy/POYZMTQ+8T1DR/R/yrq1VFjCjrJJA0mwmvpgNqLoSfGgC n9W5Oy+8l1yKVklC+Ih66NcLBnhvy5ssN+E6IPIfinHcWox3EVDH9xkfBKF9WRI= =k2l8 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
