Grib files are binary files. That means you can only transfer them with an
arq system
like pactor, packet of pskmail.
The pskmail system has been optimized for the reception of grib files. What
you
have to do to get them is the following:
* connect to a server
* the server will ask for your record if it does not have your data
* you have to do this one time for every server you use, servers do not talk
to each other
* once connected go to the info menu and hit 'Get Grib File'
* The client will send an email to query@xxxxxxxxxxxx requesting the data
*The grib file is delivered to your internet mailbox immediately.
* While still connected, hit the QTC button on the client.
* The number of the grib file in your mailbox will be listed
* Put that number into the input field at the bottom and hit the READ
button.
* The server now sends the grib file to your client (using arq, so no
errors)
* On Linux, the grib file will be unpacked and decoded and put into
/opt/zyGrib/grib
* On windoze it probably goes int C:\jpskmail\pskmail, depending on where
you installed jpskmail.

So summing it up:
connect te the server,
request the grib file
download the grib file
view the grib file with zyGrib.

All this takes 2 minutes on my boat.
