I use Gmail. Just put in smtp.gmail.com on the server side and it works like a charm. Now to use gmail for the client you have to go in to the account settings and setup see attached link. http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=13273 73 Jason KB2SDR Rein Couperus <rein@xxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: The first part is easy... You have to configure the Sylpheed client. When you start it for the first time it will ask for a mailbox location. Answer Mail (with capital 'M'). Then you will get a form for entering your account data. You want the mail to come from pskmail, so you enter full name and email address, and then set the RX server to 'none' and TX server to 'sendmail'. See sylpheed1.png The you have to tell sylpheed where the incoming mail is, which is /root/mail/Inbox in puppy. goto Configuration->Common preferences->receive and fill int the form See sylpheed2.png Sylpheed is now connected to pskmail. There should already be a message waiting in the inbox, when you get the mail and click the inbox you see: See sylpheed3. The second part is more difficult, I don't think anybody has yet tried to use the gmail SMTP server? Normally there is no problem when you use the SMTP server of your main provider, as most of them check the ip range. I have not tried the gmail server yet, but will do so after I have finished soldering my new receive loop preamp for use in the CQ160-CW contest :) If anybody can give some info on this in the mean time that would be appreciated. 73, Rein PA0R > -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- > Von: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Gesendet: 10.01.08 05:44:43 > An: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Betreff: [pskmail] Today's questions > > I have been making progress with Puppy PSKmail - a client on one laptop > and the Server on the other.
