Hmm, I am able to connect to DX cluster on port 9000, but when I try to connect
on my local machine on port 23 I get non-sense again. When I try telnet
connection to my machine using PuttyTel, I have no problem, normal telnet
connection only via PSKlink. Any idea where is the problem??
thanks in advance
Robert

Hi Robert,

Yes you are correct that when you connet to a telnet server via the pskmail
server you see the normal exchange in the client.

To check that is was working I tested the latest sever and client with a DX
cluster and I got all the exchanges at login and the automatic updates of the
DX cluster coming over.

Try pa1rbz.dyndns.org port 9000.  Login is your call sign, blank password.

That should work and it will give you an idea of how it all flows.

One thing to remember: the first time you press the QUIT button it will
disconnect your telnet session ONLY, and will tell you so. The next time you
press the QUIT button it will close the session with the Pskmail server.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Hello,
I have corrected my position in APRS network or if you prefer I returned from
China :)
I am trying server again, today I was torturing telnet connection from client
station while connected to my server. Interesting, I was able to connect via
telnet to my machine (localhost) but response that I was getting was following:
"
Starting telnet agent

--PSKmail Telnet agent --
&255;&253;&255;&253;&255;&253;#&255;&253;

"
Hmm, I do not understand it. My understending is that when I connect to telnet
via pskmail  system I will get regular prompt from the machine  that I am
trying to connect to. Is my thinking correct?? If so why do I get thing on the
screen that does not make sense, I was trying to send some commands via telnet
- nothing, no response.

By the way, I am using newest fldigi as well as newest server software that I
downloaded 3 days ago.
I also have difficulties with PTT control from fldigi in my server. Using VOX
now but it is not a good solution since the level of signal needed to triger
VOX is too high for quality PSK signal on the radio. I have Fldigi 3.20.23.
Thanks in advance
Robert
