Hello John,Thanks for the advice regarding the freqs.txt file. As soon as I get the server sorted, that's exactly what is going in. Here at home I'm trying to emulate the sort of conditions I would have out bush. I have the FT-817 transmitting into a dummy-load. I then adjust the power so that the copy on the server isn't perfect, but still usable. It works on MFSK32, but not PSK125 for instance. Anyway, this problem seems to happen if I do not send a disconnect (just abort), or if the disconnect message is not received properly by the server. I'm pretty sure this also happened the other night (0.32 server code). The thing I noticed is that the server still responded to a beacon manually sent from the client.
I'm going to try and reproduce it this morning and confirm this. Steve Z. On 02/06/2010 07:58 AM, John Douyere wrote:
Steve, For the slow modes I in fact do not fill the mode line of the freqs.txt file with the same mode to avoid exactly the same problem that you mention. I do the following: PSK125,XXXX,XXXX,XXXX,XXXX, That way it returns to psk125 every 5 minutes, but if I have a connect or beacon coming across two minutes it does not reset the fldigi modem and break the frame, except of course if I am across the last and first minutes. For the other issue, how did you get to the stage where the server disconnected: disconnect request, abort, timeout during a data transfer or timeout while idle? It does work usually (in fact it works too well sometimes - if I'm doing a connect on a slow mode, it will sometimes change back to PSK125 in the middle of the connect sequence..) What is the problem? Does the server remain in connected mode? What happens if you do: * stop the server * do a 'killall rflinkserver.pl' * restart the server. ReinOK more woes. Latest .33 server. Latest client. My slow-speed connection tests have been better, but if I do not disconnect properly the server goes weird. A couple of things happen. 1) The qrg/freqs.txt file is ignored (it's been 20 mins and the server hasn't changed mode to PSK125 which fills all 5 positions in this file). 2) The server stops beaconing. I think I need to stay away from apha code!
