Rein,

I do not get all that info when I enter 'tail -f server.log' but there are no errors that I can find. It is funny I can get the headers yet I am unable to download the messages. I know the SMTP account is correct and the is no authorization on it. I will enter the code into the rflinkserver.pl in the next couple of days and see what it gives me. It's very frustrating when I seem to be so close yet so far away. At least my station (VE7CUS) and the server station (VE7SUN) are showing up on APRS app (Xastir).

I tried the Distro on an old laptop with 96MB and it quit loading and asked for a user name and password.

Darrel,

Looks like there is a problem with the connection to the pop and smtp
servers you have defined in the database.

Have you looked at the server.log file for any error messages?

You can do 'tail -f server.log', connect and see what happens.
It should look like:

09:03 UTC Aug-16-2006: Connect_req
09:03 UTC Aug-16-2006: Called by PA0R
09:03 UTC Aug-16-2006: Max block length = 5

When this does not happen there is a problem with the pop server...

The smtp client can be tested by adding a few lines to the code and
enabling debug:

# Function for sending mail for systems without an MTA
sub send_mail {
############################################################
     my($to, $from, $subject, @body)= @_;

        my $mycall = get_session();
print "Mycall =$mycall\n";
        getuserdata($mycall);
print ("RELAY=$relay|\n");
    my $smtp = Net::SMTP->new($relay, Debug => 1);
    die "Could not open connection: $!" if (! defined $smtp);

The server should now print debug info when sending an email...

Hi,

I am still having problems getting the server working properly. It will not download the mail to the client. This is what I get when I try to read a message:-

When I try to send mail I get:-

<SOH>))#Error sending mail : Could not o7D16<SOH>00S pen Connection: invalid argumentB5EC<SOH>))% at ./rflinkserver.pl line 1286.2DF6<SOH>00&

I am using the live CD client which is great especially the screen saver. The only problem is that it does not recognize my USB drive on my system.
