Hi Darko,

Thanks for the log, it certainly helps to see the exchange.

1. There is a bug when the server do not complete the connect phase with the
client. I will be testing some code changes early next week to resolve this.

The behaviour and server log in your email below is correct otherwise: the
server tries to process the connect request by sending up to 5 connect
acknowledgments to the client and expects a response to at least one of
them.

If it does not, it reverts back to listening to the radio. This is where the
bug is, it seems to keep a connected status somewhere. See markers "=1=" and
"=1A=" in the extract of your log as attached to this email.

This is also why it says that is it already to connected to 9A3LI-1 when
9A7AOF-9 tries to connect.

2. You also have in the second example (marker "=5=" in the log) some
overlap of call signs in the connect phase. Until the five connects acks are
sent, the server should not listen for a new connect.

But in that case it switches between the two stations: 9A7AOF-9 first then
9A7DNO later when it receives that station's connect request. Another "bug",
but this one should be easier to track and fix.

3. There is also a strange client behaviour (see marker "=Inconsistent
Client Status request="), which results in the server disconnecting the
client.

Regarding your tests, I have done fair amount of linkups on 80 and 40M here
in Australia and the THOR and MFSK modes give good results on low power, or
high power (100W) mobile, even with QRN. THOR8 is very slow but also very
robust.

Have you tried to enable RSID with fldigi V3.13AZ? That way the clients can
connect on any mode supported by Pskmail (list in the client).

Thanks for report Darko. Good luck with the testing.

73s, John
