One more thought: if you don't even have (or don't want to use) USB either, the non-USB SignaLink ones connect to your computer's audio ONLY - keying is done by a VOX-like circuit built in to the interface, hence no need for a com port. Even the SignaLink USB has this built-in VOX. The USB is just for the audio - there is no USB-to-com involved. - Mike Blessed is the person who can laugh at himself - he'll never cease to be amused. ----- Original Message ---- > From: "kd5blz@xxxxxxx" <kd5blz@xxxxxxx> > To: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Tuesday, September 9, 2008 3:18:06 AM > Subject: [pskmail] PSK Mail Dumb question > > Hi > I am not new to linux but still a newbie when it comes to the digital modes. > What type of connections are most of you using to connect between your radio > and > laptop since most laptops do not have comm ports. > Rigblaster, Signal link etc. > Thanks > 73,s > KD5BLZ
