This is not related to either the server or to puppy, but to fldigi crashing.
So it is not something I can change, it happens also with the
latest fldigi (3..21.13), and ubuntu.

The thing to do is to run fldigi from a terminal, then set the
event logger to 'debug' and send the output to the
fldigi people after it crashes.

WE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH THE PUPPY SERVER
FLDIGI KEEPS SHUTTING DOWN
AND APPARENTLY THE SERVER QUITS SENDING APRS BEACONS WHEN THIS HAPPENS
OPERATOR SAYS THAT THE TERMINAL WINDOW IS STILL OPEN AND FLDIGI CLOSES

HIS COMMENTS FOLLOW
=========================================================================
It was noticed every so often it shuts down for no known reason
it is fldigi version 3.20.29
It did this a while back and was fine for a while until just resently
just fldigit shuts off , the server stays running , even after updating to
server 1.4.0 it did this again today and fldigi
was not on and had to restart it and now so far it seems to be staying on for
now
need to try to figure out why it is doing this , no  other programs are running
on that computer running puppy and server
the internet connection it is on runs 24/7 and no other devices are using ports
that may affect it , checked everything and ports
on the routers programs running on other computers and nothing running that
have changed
Hope that this can be figured out so that if I am out in the field or doing a
demo or using it with Navy Comms on drill exercise's having it fail then
reflects poorly on its use during emergencies and with both ham or MARS use

WE HAVE TRIED UPGRADING SERVER TO 1.4.0A AND FLDIGI TO LASTEST PUPPY RELEASE

========================================================================================================================================================================================

WE UNDERSTAND THAT IT MAYBE OPERATOR ERROR  HOWEVER THAT DOESN’T CHANGE HIS
VIEW POINT

IS THERE SOMEWHERE THAT PUTS PROGRAMS TO SLEEP ?

OUR LAST DITCH EFFORT IS TO
COPY FLDIGIRC.PL AND FREQ.TXT
TO ANOTHER MACHINE

THEN WIPE THE USB THUMB DRIVE CLEAN
USE THE DISK TO BOOT BRING BACK THE TWO MENTIONED FILES AND PLACE THEM BACK IN
THE SYSTEM
AND THEN RESAVE ALL INFORMATION TO USB DRIVE

THIS IS MY SUGGESTION TO OPERATOR AS HE DOES HAVE A HD FOR THAT MACHINE
AVAILABLE
THIS NEXT BEST THING IS TO UPDATE TO A HIGHER OPERATING SYSTEM DEBIAN OR BODHI

ANY OTHER SUGGESTION OR INFORMATION IS WELCOME

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS PROJECT
