Question for the forum, I have been able to connect with WB5CON's server using the PSK 250 mode but there have been many times where I could not establish a connection. I can see from his station log that I am getting through but no connect. I haven't yet heard beacons from other NA PSKmail servers or EU PSKmail servers. However I can frequently reach these same areas using PSK31. I expect that the wider bandwidth of PSK250 vice PSK31 may mean less DX under the same conditions. So here is the question: I have heard that PACTOR establishes a connection at a narrower bandwidth and then expands bandwidth to fit the conditions. Has anyone looked at allowing the PSKmail clients and servers to adjust bandwidth by switching mode, PSK31 through PSK250, based on propagation? Bill, Here is a link to a debian package site which has an unstable version of fldigi 2.09. http://packages.debian.org/unstable/hamradio/fldigi I asked the debian ham group whether they would be interested in putting together a PSKmail debian package. There seem to be a lot of new Ubuntu users, especially sailors and campers, that might be interested in using PSKmail if it was easier to install. I'll let you know if they are going to put a package together. For a person experienced with debian packages, it probably wouldn't take much time
