Hello, I have been trying to be brave and venture through linux on my own. I
have been playing with Ubuntu for the last week and decided that I want to
stick with it. I have been trying to install pskmail and have successfully
installed fldigi and gmfsk. I have followed the client install on the website
and have been getting stuck on the Gtk2::GladeXML step. I keep getting the
following when using cpan:

CPAN.pm: Going to build T/TS/TSCH/Gtk2-GladeXML-1.006.tar.gz

*** can not find package libglade-2.0 >= 2.0.0
*** check that it is properly installed and available in PKG_CONFIG_PATH
 at Makefile.PL line 45

I have looked in synaptic package manager and have found libglade2-0 in the
list and it is installed. The manager says it is installed in /usr/lib
directory. I have tried to install GTK2 manually from the cpan directory and
get the following:

*** can not find package /usr/lib/libglade-2.0.so.0 >= 2.0.0
*** check that it is properly installed and available in PKG_CONFIG_PATH
 at Makefile.PL line 45

So, I went in the Makefile.PL and hae tried to manually edit the file in vi. I
am assuming that line 45 is from counting the lines:

our %pkgcfg = ExtUtils::PkgConfig->find ('libglade-2.0 >= '.$build_reqs{Glade});

So I have editted it with :

our %pkgcfg = ExtUtils::PkgConfig->find ('/usr/lib/libglade-2.0 >=
'.$build_reqs{Glade});

I have been unsuccessful and think this will be my only roadblock. here is the
list from the package manager that libglade2-0 has been installed:
/.
/usr
/usr/share
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0/README
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0/AUTHORS
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0/copyright
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0/changelog.gz
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0/NEWS.gz
/usr/share/doc/libglade2-0/changelog.Debian.gz
/usr/share/xml
/usr/share/xml/libglade
/usr/share/xml/libglade/glade-2.0.dtd
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/libglade-2.0.so.0.0.7
/usr/lib/libglade-2.0.so.0

Not sure what else I can include.

I would like to try and get this going from my distro and then use the cd for
emergencies.

Any and all help will be appreciated..
