Hi Klaus,

This all started when I wrote a google map page that connects to
aprsworld to get fresh data for clients and servers. That page is here:
http://www.crusefalk.se/pskmailers/

One issue there was that it was difficult to get a result set from the
database at aprsworld that easily could separate servers and clients.
In order to do that properly I would have to set up an aprs daemon that
collected aprs data for pskmail servers and clients. And thats pretty
much what Rein did, he set up a listener and used that to fill a local
table that in turn fed a similar page as above:
http://hermes.esrac.ele.tue.nl/maps/pskmailers.php

Now, I solved the issue of separating the servers and clients later on
but I still have the issue of limiting the data set from aprs world. At
the moment my old page can't get all data from the last day or so, it
gets a limited numer of records instead. With the aprs listener its
easier to datestamp all the packets and get data not older than... And
so the page at hermes is more up to date and my page above lets stations
stay on the map somewhat longer. But, I'm sure I can solve that issue as
well if I devote some more time to it (that would remove the need for a
local listener and database).

Separating the data into two tables is easy. At the moment it just lists
all the stations in one table but splitting it into two is no problem at
all. When I wrote the page it wasn't an issue that all stations were in
one table, there were so few stations that it all fit on one page...

Presenting all that other data is also not a problem, we just need to
define a way to send the data from the server and how the data should be
fetched from the presentation page. Perhaps its not a good idea to have
the email up there as that creates a risk for spam.

Sure, we can devote some time to this issue at the conference!

73!
