This is a pain in the neck, but it can be resolved. The trick is to follow exactly the recipe on the wiki... it is important to install openssl-0.9.7d.tar.gz before trying SSLeay and not another (newer) version. This has to be compiled, synaptic will not get you the right version. I have to do a fresh server install on Feisty tomorrow, I will recheck if the procedure is still valid. 73, Rein PA0R BTW I can also provide a statically linked version of the server which does not need extra libraries, but that needs quite a bit of RAM to run.... > -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- > Von: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Gesendet: 22.09.07 22:19:33 > An: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Betreff: [pskmail] Building Server on Ubuntu - SSLeay Problem > > SSLeay won't build right in cpan, as the instructions indicate might > happen. I then follow the instructions and go into > ~/.cpan/build/Net-SSLeay-1.32-xxxxxx (it's trying to install v1.32 not > 1.30) and do a 'perl ./Makefile.PL' and make. Make errors out with: > > /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz > > Google isn't helping me out on this one. (I don't see a libz-anything > in Synaptic that I might need) Any hints? > > Thanks in advance > 73 > Goody > > -- > Blog: http://thek3ngreport.blogspot.com/ > > > > -- http://pa0r.blogspirit.com
