I saw your maritime beacon on the map Fred :)

Status: the update goes well, and I am probably going to make the weekend
deadline
for the release.

Goodies:

* Client-to-client (TTY-arq) mode works now, the bug fix vastly improves
throughput.
* Clients can now send emails to other clients in TTY mode as easily as to a
server!
* Client-to-client mail delivered in standard Inbox (mbox format), can be read
with 'unix mail' client and evolution.
* Client-to-client messages can be generated by evolution or with the built-in
('new') form.
* Outgoing mail now generally goes to the Outbox mail queue, outgoing emails
are deleted from the queue
on reception. When transfer is broken they remain in the queue for the next
connect.
* A copy of the outgoing mail is kept in the 'Sent' log.
* Same operational procedures for sending mail in TTY and MAIL mode (push
'SEND' button).
* No 'delete send file' anymore (whatsay Per)
* No 'view send file' anymore (deprecated)
* The receive window is now cleared at startup, you start with a blank screen.
* When you connect to a station in TTY mode it automatically goes to TTY mode
as well, and shows the caller.
* Improved operational messages (connected to, disconnected, etc.) in TTY mode.
* Improved status messaging (used to work only when txt packet was received,
now works every 2 secs.) to
keep track of the text transfer.
* PAQ8 compression beats everything in the field...

I think with this upcoming release a lot of your wishes have been accounted for.
Anything else I have to include?

Still some minor stuff todo anyway, of course I have broken a few things :)

73,
