There is a small button on the first page of the window$ sound application,
where you can switch the internal Microsoft sounds off...

Not everyone wants to invest into an exernal sound card...
And there is always the solution with 1.5.10 + Fldigi until we have 
found out how to handle the external ones with the  java driver...

Clues are welcome.

No it doesn't. If you use the default device, the Windows sound effects
will find their way onto the transmitted audio as well as the pskmail
audio tones. You should *never* use the Windows default device for data
comms.
