I HAVE TROUBLE FROM TIME TO TIME WITH FLDIGI AFTER A VERSION UPDATE I USUALLY REINSTALL UBUNTU AND INSTALL FLDIGI FIRST THING AND THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY DAVID KF4WBS From: Pär Crusefalk Sent: Monday, June 24, 2013 09:05 To: pskmail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [pskmail] Re: Aw: Re: Experiments with new mode Hi, Unfortunately the status_log.txt does not say very much about the problems, I have had it in verbose debug for long periods but it just ends up with a black fldigi window. It's no fun having to restart the crap abt 10 times a day either. Seriously, fldigi is unusable. I don't think we need any new modes at this time, I think we need a stable system that works. 73, Per sm0rwo Rein Couperus skrev 2013-06-24 11:11: Tnx Per, can you send the status_log.txt of some crashes to w1hkj? Here it crashes abt. 1x per 2 days, mostly segfaults... The idea is to port the missing modems to java, but I need to know first which ones :-) There are just too many... Rein Hi, I tried to update the server to this version and had two issues. First the server would not start when I launched it using the pskmail_server script, I then launched the rflinkserver.pl instead and that worked fine. Then fldigi crashed. It was the mail version and I built that on the server pc first. Unfortunately I am completely unable to run fldigi on the server, it crashes after an hours or so. Mostly I get X crashes, the socket will mostly still be up. At the moment I am running the v2modem (which lacks the intended mode but does work). 73, Per sm0rwo P.s. Server down today as I am doing antenna maintenance. Rein Couperus skrev 2013-06-21 15:47: Must be http://pskmail.org/Experimental.html of course... Rein Now testing the CONTESTIA mode. In simulated channel tests by K2MO this mode had excellent results in QRM, QRN, Multipath and Noise conditions. One of the areas where pskmail has problems is when you are in a harbor or in a camp site with lots of switching chargers. Also PLC equipment can cause QRM. So far my tests have confirmed this for the NOISE, QRM and QRN conditions. If you are interested in testing there is more info on: http://pskmail.org/Experimental.http 73, Rein --
