Hi, I agree with your opinion, this will be exciting to watch and could create something really good. Commercial hf modems run at speeds up to 9600 bps, the Harris RF-5710A for example, and I have used them during terrible condx with excellent results. More narrow band modes, such as STANAG 4529 (1240 Hz), are also very interesting. My humble demands for a mode is one that can stay within a 500 Hz filter, is very fast (2400-4800 bps) and also very robust (and open source of course).
