Hello Sven and all, I was actually monitoring that from work, great that you tested and reported about this! I have been looking through the logs on my email server and I can confirm that there is a problem here. Here is a part of the log from the mail server: 2008-10-07 17:56:54.950172500 21692 Connection from pc-00010.crusefalk.se [192.168.0.10] 2008-10-07 17:56:55.468134500 21692 220 erik.crusefalk.se ESMTP 2008-10-07 17:56:55.475162500 21692 dispatching EHLO localhost.localdomain 2008-10-07 17:56:55.583149500 21692 250-crusefalk.se Hi pc-00010.crusefalk.se [192.168.0.10] 2008-10-07 17:56:55.585137500 21692 250-PIPELINING 2008-10-07 17:56:55.587247500 21692 250-8BITMIME 2008-10-07 17:56:55.589768500 21692 250 SIZE 15000000 2008-10-07 17:56:55.595481500 21692 dispatching MAIL FROM:<OE5RPP Peter> 2008-10-07 17:56:55.616616500 21692 full from_parameter: FROM:<OE5RPP Peter> 2008-10-07 17:56:55.620109500 21692 from email address : [<OE5RPP Peter>] 2008-10-07 17:56:55.624006500 21692 501 could not parse your mail from command 2008-10-07 17:56:55.628236500 21692 dispatching RCPT TO:<DL6SVA@xxxxxxxxxx> 2008-10-07 17:56:55.631568500 21692 503 Use MAIL before RCPT 2008-10-07 17:56:55.636059500 21692 dispatching DATA 2008-10-07 17:56:55.639258500 21692 503 MAIL first 2008-10-07 17:56:55.643963500 21692 dispatching To: DL6SVA@xxxxxxxxxx 2008-10-07 17:56:55.646762500 21692 500 Unrecognized command 2008-10-07 17:56:55.650133500 21692 dispatching From: OE5RPP Peter 2008-10-07 17:56:55.652590500 21692 500 Unrecognized command 2008-10-07 17:56:55.655153500 21692 dispatching Subject: PSKaprs message from DL6SVA 2008-10-07 17:56:55.657904500 21692 500 Unrecognized command 2008-10-07 17:56:55.660435500 21692 dispatching 2008-10-07 17:56:55.662854500 21692 500 Unrecognized command 2008-10-07 17:56:55.665202500 21692 dispatching Hallo 07.10.2008 17:54 2008-10-07 17:56:55.668442500 21692 500 Unrecognized command 2008-10-07 17:56:56.353145500 3899 cleaning up after 21692 The whole message is not passed on as the from email address is looking strange indeed. Also, I think it may have selected the wrong call as originator. But, what should the server do if it receives a pskaprs message originating from a callsign not in the local user database? Should we create a local address somehow? And yes, dl6sva is not in the local user database. So, there is a problem here and I believe most email servers will behave the same way so this could affect all servers. The issue of passing email from an unknown source certainly does, perhaps we should have a pskmailrc.pl setting where that can be turned off? 73 de Per, sm0rwo On tis, 2008-10-07 at 19:13 +0200, Sven Arend wrote: > Hello OMs, > > i tried to send an email to dl6sva@xxxxxxxxxxx > MSG arrived at SM0RWO but was not forwarded to the mailbox. > What could be the problem ? > Thanks, > 73, Sven, DL6SVA > > !----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------! > RX (2008-10-07 16:16Z): sl <US><SOH>00uDL6SVA:25 DL6SVA@xxxxxxxxxx > Hallo 07.10.2008-18:14 > RX (2008-10-07 16:16Z): B479<EOT> > TX (2008-10-07 16:16Z): <US><SOH>00uSM0RWO:71 > 06A1<EOT>!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------!
